| One of the peculiar things of a fresh build is all the neat new sounds you are now aware of that you didn't notice before. Elimanating the cats you hear the turbos, head work exposes more valve train noise. At the end of the day, you're really paying more attention to your new baby. Don't sweat it, if it's a bad alternator, you'll just have to replace it. I recommend checking the tensioner pulley, this was my culprit. My only regret regarding my build, is not using the hard break in method. I went easy like I was told, oil changes, no boost etc..... While I have a car that produces plenty of power and very reliable, I feel that the hard break in would have seated the rings better. For now I have an engine that uses a lot of oil through blow-buy. The upside is I pay a lot more attention and my girl always has clean fresh oil. I don't mind the hassle and the additional $$$$ as I track the car and use it with my intended purpose. Tturbo cars burn oil and I don't see myself checking the oil anymore than my friends and their built Zs. I have an aftermarket oil pressure gauge (highly recommended) the oil situation is really more of an inconvenience, but I'm the type of individual that is benefitting from it. That said, many here have used the hard break in method with the end result being a turbo car that uses significantly less oil and adds a little more convenience to an otherwise high maintanence car.
